400 MW project completed in 2019 - A breakthrough for price of Offshore Wind

Overview

Horns Rev 3 was completed in 2019 and represented a breakthrough in the cost of offshore wind energy when it was tendered in 2015 at a price of 103 Euro/MWh, almost 40% cheaper than previous offshore wind projects in Europe. The project was completed on time and within budget. Piers Guy was the project sponsor for Horns Rev 3 during the Final Investment Decision for a 1Bn Euro investment.
